We are interested in translations that will expose our readers to compelling and little-known work. We prefer poems and short prose. Please submit both a copy of the translation and the piece in its original language, with a brief note about the author and the process of translating his or her work. We ask that you also include the citation for the book or magazine that published the original piece, as it will assist us in obtaining copyright permissions. Please be sure to include the name of your undergraduate institution and any of your previous publications in your cover letter.

Please note that your acceptance depends not only upon the quality of the translation but also on the copyright holder’s permission to publish the translation. The Susquehanna Review is committed to working with copyright holders to secure permission so that undergraduate translators have a chance to publish their work. However, if we are not granted permission, we will be unable to publish the translation. In addition, if a translation is accepted, it will only be published in our print editions due to copyright issues.

We accept submissions year round. However, to be considered for our 2022 issue, please submit your artwork by February 15th, 2022.

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
